Objectives:
Practical: to teach pupils speak on the topic, answer the questions, use their active vocabulary 
                 on the topic; to practice using the structures be fond of, be interested in; to teach to tell
                 about  their hobby
Educational: to enrich pupils’ knowledge about the activities in their free time;
Developing: to improve pupils’ reading, writing and speaking skills; to develop creative    
                     thinking, organizing pair work
Moral values: to cultivate the respect to each other
Equipment: a blackboard, a computer, a puzzle, books,  posters, handouts with tasks, pictures,
                         cards

I.              Introduction to the lesson

      Greeting

Teacher: 
           We wake up in the morning
    Ready for the day
   Hello, hello, good morning
   What a lovely day!        (Together with children)

It’s nice that almost of you are in a good mood, so we’ll have an interesting work together.  But first I propose to you some lesson rules (вчитель зачитує, учні допомагають з перекладом):

T: Well, friends,  have a look at the pictures, please. Here is a puzzle for you.
Name all the words in the pictures, take only the first letter of each word and you will read the topic of our lesson. For example, a pen – letter “p”….. (
a teacher writes this letter) and so on.

Presentation of the topic and aim:
Teacher: You are right. Today we are going to talk about our free time and the way you spend it. So, the theme of our lesson is “THE LAND OF MY FREE TIME”(Please, open your copy-books and write down the date and our topic)
We’ll have an  unusual lesson because we are going to have a trip to the magic land of free time. We are going to visit some inhabitants of this land : Mr. Word, Mrs. Grammar and Mrs. Chatter. We’ll learn new vocabulary on the given topic, practise some new grammar structure and  tell about our hobby.
          Warming-up
Teacher: Let’s start our lesson with the poem (учні отримують віршик, спочатку слухають вчителя, а потім озвучують рядки вірша по варіантах)
I            I like reading comic books.
             I always read a lot.
II        I like collecting action toys.
             Sometimes it’s hard to stop.
I           I like to jump, I like to run,
II         I like to play, because it’s fun!
Teacher: Good work, pupils!

II. The Main Part of the Lesson

Mr.Word

Presentation of New Material.Vocabulary presentation

Teacher: Now its time to visit Mr. Word and learn some new words on our topic. Look at the screen and repeat after me (Slides at the presentation)
             And now open your books on page 59 and write down them into your vocabularies (учні записують слова у словник)
Mrs. Chatter
Teacher: When we know some new words we can visit Mrs. Chatter. Mrs. Chatter knows that everybody has his hobby. So, let’s speak about them. But first say what is hobby?
P: A hobby is an activity we always like doing!
Teacher: Right! So say me what do you like doing?

T: Now let’s speak about your own hobbies. When I was a schoolgirl, I was fond of collecting calendars. I would like to show you a piece of my collection (A teacher shows her own collection). And what do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies? Let's make a chain. I'll start. Do you have any hobbies, Dan?
P1: Of course, I do. I like doing sports in my free time. And what about you, Nikita?
P2: As for me, I like to collect coins and read books. Do you have any hobbies, Sasha?
P3: Sure, my hobby is to sing English songs. And what do you like to do in your free time, Max?
P4: I am fond of making toys.

Teacher: Please, raise your hand who likes to play musical instruments. And now raise your hand who likes to play sport games. We must know some rules about the difference in saying about it in English
(вчитель пояснює, що коли ми говоримо про гру на музичних інструментах, то вживаємо артикль the перед назвою інструмента. Але коли ми говоримо про гру чи заняття певним видом спорту, тоді артикль відсутній)

Teacher: Playing games can also be a kind of a hobby. So, do you like to play games? Now let's play “Guessing game”. Your task is to demonstrate the pastime. Some of you will come to me, take a card with a picture and try to show your classmates this hobby.

P3: Demonstrates playing the piano.
P4: She likes to play the piano.
P5: Demonstrates singing
P6: She likes to sing.

Коментар учителя: Опрацьовуючи нові слова з теми, ми ознайомилися з такими структурами як
to be fond of  та to be interested in. Зупинимося детальніше на особливостях їх вживання. Існує така формула (вчитель прикріплює схему на дошці, учні записують):
